H2-DEIA Platform to Set New Benchmarks for Diversity and Inclusion

Beginning a new partnership between the Hydrogen Council and the International Partnership for Hydrogen and Fuel Cells in the Economy (IPHE), a new platform named H2-DEIA has been launched. 

The platform aims to increase and advance diversity, equity, inclusion and accessibility in the hydrogen sector. 

Announced in Washington in coalition with the 20th anniversary of the IPHE, the 23 countries that form the IPHE will join forces with over 150 industry leaders working in the hydrogen sector and are part of the Hydrogen Council.   

This collaboration aims to attract interest from global governments, wider industry, future investors and more academia. In turn, organisations will have the know-how and knowledge to shape the skilled workforce required to boost the hydrogen economy   

Rebecca Maserumule, current Chair of IPHE and Chief Science and Technology Representative-Hydrogen, Department of Science and Innovation of South Africa explained: “It is a proud moment for the country, and its first activities will be launching the pilot mentor-mentee platform under H2-DEIA to link mentors with those interested in hydrogen.”

Daria Nochevnik, Hydrogen Council Director for Policy and Partnerships, said, “Developing and promoting a diverse talent pool is one of the key prerequisites for moving towards a global and equitable clean hydrogen economy, and a sustainable Net Zero future.”
