Ukraine Signs Cooperation Charter for European Associations Advancing Clean Hydrogen
14 May marked a significant milestone in the advancement of hydrogen technologies across Europe, as written by the Ukrainian Hydrogen Council (UHC). 23 national hydrogen associations convened in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, to fortify their collaboration.
The European Hydrogen Associations Assembly was organised by Hydrogen Europe and co-hosted by NLHydrogen. It witnessed the signing of a Cooperation Charter for European Associations Advancing Clean Hydrogen. This charter aims to foster European leadership in hydrogen technologies. It will be a guiding beacon for joint efforts among the participating associations.
Ukraine believes collaboration is needed to shape the future of hydrogen
Representing the UHC at this pivotal event was Board member Oleksandr Riepkin. He actively engaged in discussions and signed the Charter on behalf of the Council. The UHC is poised to contribute significantly to the collective efforts outlined in the Cooperation Charter.
Polina Kazakevych, President of the UHC, emphasised the significance of collaboration in shaping the future of hydrogen technologies. “The signing of the Cooperation Charter symbolises our unwavering commitment to collaborative action in facilitating hydrogen deployment at national and European levels,” Kazakevych remarked. “As Ukraine aims to play a crucial role in advancing clean energy solutions, particularly in hydrogen, we are dedicated to fostering partnerships and advocating for comprehensive policies that support sustainable hydrogen ecosystems.”
Key principles outlined in the Cooperation Charter
It includes:
- advocating for comprehensive policy support at various levels of governance,
- fostering clean hydrogen markets through technology openness,
- facilitating the integration of EU legislation into national frameworks.
Moreover, the charter underscores the importance of knowledge sharing and collaboration among associations. It favours the establishment of alliances with relevant organisations to champion hydrogen as a vital tool for carbon emissions reduction.
The UHC extends its gratitude to all participants. It reaffirms its dedication to driving the hydrogen agenda, domestically and throughout Europe.
