Transport General Authority Delivers Hydrogen Truck to Saudi Arabia

The Transport General Authority (TGA) has introduced Saudi Arabia’s first hydrogen truck in partnership with Almajdouie Logistics.

This experimental launch signifies TGA’s dedication to fulfilling the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 goals, aiming for a carbon emission-free environment. The truck, notable for its zero carbon emissions, aligns with the National Strategy for Transport and Logistics and Saudi Arabia’s sustainability initiatives.

Designed for safe goods transportation, the truck can cover distances over 400 km. It is fueled by hydrogen with a capacity of up to 35 kg and a gas pressure of up to 350 bar.

This project is part of a strategic partnership between Almajdouie Logistics and Air Products

This project is part of a strategic partnership between Almajdouie Logistics and Air Products Qudra Company, aiming to integrate hydrogen truck solutions for operation and fueling within Saudi Arabia. The initiative seeks to establish a hydrogen transportation ecosystem, providing integrated solutions and enhancing hydrogen truck transport across the Kingdom.

The agreement encompasses the design, financing, construction, operation, and maintenance of hydrogen infrastructure, including refueling stations at various locations. This effort supports an ambitious feasibility study aligned with the Kingdom’s Vision 2030 and the Saudi Green Initiative.

Almajdouie Company has received the first operational card for hydrogen trucks in Saudi Arabia

Almajdouie Company has received the first operational card for hydrogen trucks in Saudi Arabia from the Naql e-platform. The card ensures all necessary information, compliance with conditions, and technical requirements, while also enhancing service efficiency, public and traffic safety, and fulfilling the National Strategy for Transport and Logistics goals.

This inauguration extends TGA’s commitment to adopting innovative technologies in transportation. Additionally, TGA has issued the first operating license for a hydrogen train to “SAR,” known for its zero carbon emissions, to support sustainable transportation and reduce carbon emissions.

TGA’s initiatives aim to improve quality of life and achieve the National Strategy for Transport and Logistics’ target of a 25% reduction in carbon emissions by 2030.
