Professor Jianzhong Wu

Professor Jianzhong Wu is Professor of Multi-Vector Energy Systems and Head of the School of Engineering at Cardiff University. He leads WP1 of the UKRI Hydrogen Integration for Accelerated Energy Transition (Hi-ACT) Hub and serves as Co-Director of both the UK Energy Research Centre and the Supergen Energy Networks Impact Hub. Prof. Wu is a member of several advisory bodies, including the UK Government’s Taxonomy Energy Working Group, the Scottish Power Energy Networks Independent Net Zero Advisory Council, the Welsh Government Independent Advisory Group on Future Electricity Grid for Wales, and the Royal Society Working Group on Thermal Energy Efficiency in Industry. He has provided expert evidence to the UK Parliament’s inquiry into the role of hydrogen in Net Zero, and is internationally recognised for his pioneering work in smart grids, multi-vector energy systems, and peer-to-peer energy trading.
