Jason Paterson
Jason is Innovation Manager, working within the technology team at the Net Zero Technology Centre. Jason manages a team of analysts tasked with delivering the centres technology horizon scanning, internal knowledge management and delivery of external thought leadership. His role involves the identification and delivery of new strategic projects across the three main growth industries: Hydrogen, Carbon Capture and Storage and Offshore Renewable Energy.
Jason has been at the forefront of the Centre’s net zero program since its inception, delivering multiple cross sector and industry leading thought leadership reports on the role of technology in the energy sectors transition to net zero.
Jason is passionate about achieving a balanced and affordable energy transition whilst securing national energy supplies, jobs, and economic benefits locally. He has been involved in numerous proactive actions to champion both Scotland and the UK’s climate commitments including the award-winning Young Leaders Development Program run by the 2050 climate group.
Jason has a BSc Honours Degree in Earth Science from the University of Glasgow and an MSc with Distinction in Integrated Petroleum Geoscience from the University of Aberdeen.
