David Walker

David joined Progressive Energy in early 2022 and draws on his experience to assist in the delivery of the HyNet North West project. Prior to joining Progressive, David was the Head of Scale-up and Engineering for Econic Technologies – a start-up company focusing on the utilisation of CO2 with in polymeric products. Here, he was successful in developing its catalyst and process from a TRL 3 to a TRL 7, ready for commercialisation.

David has an extensive background in the licensing of catalyst technology, process design, product delivery and management of multi-disciplinary teams, after his time at Johnson Matthey (formerly Davy Process Technology). During this period David was focused on the development and FEED engineering of Johnson Matthey’s cutting edge syngas technology. He was also involved in commissioning and the operation of syngas plants around the world; leading multi-faceted teams in the development of novel catalytic products.

David also spent 4 years managing projects at Johnson Matthey, delivering complex development and capital projects.
