David Rennie
David Rennie has been the Head of Low Carbon Energy at Scottish Enterprise since June 2022. Prior to that he was Head of Energy and Low Carbon transition for Trade at Scottish Development International from 2020 to 2022. Current responsibilities including leading SE work on Offshore Wind, Hydrogen, Carbon Capture and Wave/Tidal.
From 2011 to 2018 he was Head of Oil and Gas at Scottish Enterprise. Priorities over recent years included developing SE’s approach to decommissioning and subsea, leading an ambitious programme to grow Scotland’s Subsea Engineering sector, with a focus on supporting the company base; diversification and innovation.
David is a member of the Board of the Net Zero Technology Centre. Previous appointments include being on the boards of both Subsea UK and the Oil and Gas Innovation Centre (OGIC). David was also a member of the Scottish Government Energy Jobs Task Force from 2015 – 2017 set up to deal with the downturn in the Energy sector. David has been with Scottish Enterprise since 2010 and prior to that worked as an Economist for the Scottish Government, Welsh Development Agency and also in the private sector.
