Andrew Collier

Andrew Collier has been both Managing Director and Chief Technical Officer for International Gas Detectors Since 1996 when the company was acquired by the Oliver family group of technology companies. Originally trained as a design engineer in mechanical engineering, Andrew followed a traditional engineering apprenticeship gaining ONC, HNC, HND, B Eng then later an electronics HNC. An engineering career followed in development, application and design roles across a number of industries. Andrew has been responsible for the design and development of gas analysers, smoke emission measurement instruments and mass spectrometers. Since taking over leadership of International Gas Detectors in 1996 and leading the management buy out in 2007 Andrew has led the development of the companies products. Innovation is a passion leading to IGD’s addressable gas detection technology coupled with highly reliable range of gas detectors. Now part of Safe monitoring group Andrew also now has responsibility for the groups R&D activities.
