Permission Granted for New Hydrogen Station in Sweden

Hynion has been granted permission to construct a new hydrogen refuelling station in Vasteras, Sweden. How is this aiming to speed up the transition to zero-emission fuelling?

The station, equipped with a refuelling capacity of 1.5 tonnes of hydrogen per day, is one of two that will be funded by a grant worth SEK 61.4 million ($5.6 million) from the Swedish Energy Agency.

They will be built in Vasteras, one at the STOP128 truck stop, and the other in the Torsvik logistics area in Jonkoping.

On the partnership, CEO of Hynion Sverige AB, Slavica Djuric, expressed: “We are very happy about the excellent collaboration with the City of Vasteras and that we have now received the go-ahead to build a hydrogen refuelling station at this strategically important location in Vasteras.

“We are convinced that this will be an important and successful project to speed up the replacement of fossil fuels with zero-emission alternatives.”

It follows earlier this year when Hynion signed a deal with hydrogen fuel cell manufacturer H2X Global (H2X) to establish commercial fleets of hydrogen-powered vehicles.

For Hynion, the aim of the project was to link its existing and future infrastructure with H2X’s ambitions to manufacture commercial hydrogen vehicles.
