Infener and Ryze Power sign hydrogen supply deal

The offtake agreement is set to ensure an “efficient” supply of green hydrogen to customers across Europe.

European energy solution company, Infener, has announced the signing of an offtake agreement with Ryze Power for an increased supply and distribution of green hydrogen.

The project is set to address gaps in the current hydrogen core grid while distributing hydrogen to key customers in Germany and Switzerland.

According to Infener, of the planned 9,666-kilometre hydrogen core grid, only 470 kilometres are expected to connect Baden-Württemberg

Joel Vogl, CEO of Infener, emphasised how the partnership will focus on sustainable production.

Vogl said: “Green hydrogen is the key to the energy transition. Together with Ryze Power, we demonstrate how sustainable production, and decentralised supply can go hand in hand to achieve a regional and independent energy transition.”

Following the deal signing, Infener’s production hubs in Villingen-Schwenningen and Gengenbach will supply large-scale green hydrogen starting around 2026.

Leander Hoffmann, Managing Director of Ryze Power, added: “This partnership creates new opportunities for an emissions-free energy supply. With our infrastructure, we deliver green hydrogen exactly where it’s needed – to industry and the fuel pump.”

Aligning with initiatives set by the German government, the partnership is enabling the increased conversion and storage of hydrogen.

According to the National Hydrogen Strategy, Germany has set a green hydrogen production target of 5 GW by 2030, with an additional 5 GW to be built in 2035-2040.

The region has set a further target of building 10 gigawatts (GW) of domestic electrolysis capacity by 2030.
