The Gas Appliance Regulation (GAR) has given HYTING the approval to launch its operations across Europe.
German hydrogen heating technology company HYTING has announced its Gas Appliance Regulation (GAR) certification which will allow for for field test operation across the European market.
Following “thorough testing and assessment” on HYTING’s HG10 in Kiwa lab facilities, the mandatory certification was issued by Dutch inspection company.
With the GAR being a compulsory, HYTING stated they selected the independent accredited laboratory at Kiwa due to the company’s reputation as “one of the sector’s longest-established test house”.
Tim Hannig, Founder and Managing Director HYTING, emphasised the impact that the certification will have on its customer base.
Hannig said: “We’re very proud that we can now call our innovative hydrogen heat generators ‘GAR-certified’ because this demonstrates to our customers and investors that our technology is not only safe, but also market-ready. We chose Kiwa to carry out the certification because it is a trusted partner within the heating sector and has a proven reputation for technical excellence.”
HYTING, which states its heat generator portfolio carries a range spanning 10-50kW ratings per unit, are all designed to “efficiently generate heat with no CO2, NOx or particulate matter emissions”.
The company’s technology features a flameless, catalytic process which is set to sustain for process heat of up to 300°C.
Building on previous partnerships across the sector, the company is set to move quickly from series to production with the first customer trials beginning early 2025.
