Hydrogen Energy in the Republic of Moldova
The “Hydrogen Energy in the Republic of Moldova” conference was held in July 2024. Hydrogen Ukraine LLC (Ukraine) announced a groundbreaking partnership with Global Assist SRL (Moldova).
Iaroslav Kryl, CEO of Hydrogen Ukraine LLC, unveiled a transformative Hydrogen Valley project and shared their experience in developing a similar initiative in Reni, Odesa region.
The highlight of this milestone was the signing of a memorandum of understanding to replicate similar project in Moldova, marking a significant step towards energy security and sustainability.
This memorandum outlines their shared commitment to collaborate in several crucial areas:
- Evaluating and identifying the energy potential of renewable sources (solar and wind) across different Moldovan regions and cross-border territories, aligning with European standards.
- Analysing and confirming the availability of suitable resources (water) for green hydrogen production while ensuring their environmentally friendly usage in the region.
- Coordinating efforts to provide recommendations for the utilization of the country’s infrastructure, including the power grid and gas transportation system, drawing from Europe’s successful transition to alternative energy sources.
- Promoting the use of hydrogen as an energy resource, facilitating the development of “green hydrogen” production facilities and transportation infrastructure both within Moldova and beyond its borders. We will also offer guidance to interagency commissions and associations on reducing the carbon footprint during the transition to renewable energy sources, including green hydrogen.
This partnership is a testament to a commitment to advancing sustainable energy solutions and fostering international cooperation. Together, they are taking meaningful steps towards a greener, more energy-secure future.
