GreenIron Signs Major Delivery Agreement
Swedish company GreenIron is about to start operations at its green metals production plant in Sandviken, Sweden. It will utilize its patented zero-emissions technology with green hydrogen as a reducing agent. Norwegian Hydrogen, which recently opened its first production plant in Norway, will supply the green hydrogen. Deliveries to Sandviken will start shortly.
“This marks the beginning of an exciting chapter for both companies. As GreenIron scales up production during 2025, the contracted hydrogen volumes will quickly ramp up to levels which require that we bring additional and dedicated hydrogen production capacity on stream” said Simen Skaare Eriksen, CCO of Norwegian Hydrogen.
Ulrika Molander, COO of GreenIron commented: “We are delighted to partner with Norwegian Hydrogen, marking another important milestone towards our launch in Sandviken. Green hydrogen is essential to GreenIron’s patented fossil-free metal production process”.
“Green hydrogen is no longer a concept – it’s our business, and it’s creating value today,” said Jens Berge, CEO at Norwegian Hydrogen. “This contract aligns with our strategy to lead in green hydrogen supply and to support industry clients like GreenIron who are acting on their commitment to reducing emissions”.
Ulrika Molander at GreenIron added, “Collaboration with Norwegian Hydrogen secures our supply chain as we begin commercial production and prepare for scaling up volumes and expansion.
This contract reflects Norwegian Hydrogen and GreenIron’s shared commitment to providing society with a sustainable alternative and underscores the business potential of green hydrogen in industrial applications such as metal production.
