This week Ukraine became the focal point for discussions on hydrogen technologies It hosted the 3rd annual international conference titled “From Promises to Reality: Accelerating Hydrogen Technologies in Ukraine and Beyond.”
The event gathered leading professionals and experts worldwide to discuss the prospects and challenges of developing hydrogen energy.
The Ukrainian Hydrogen Council emphasised the importance of achieving energy independence
The conference served as a platform to showcase the significant progress made by the Ukrainian Hydrogen Council. During the event, a representative from the Ministry of Energy of Ukraine discussed the status of Ukraine’s Hydrogen Strategy up to 2050. It includes ambitious plans and concrete steps for developing hydrogen energy in the country.
Polina Kazakevych, President of the Ukrainian Hydrogen Council, shared insights on the energy association’s activities in 2023 and outlined ambitious goals for 2024. She emphasised the importance of implementing new hydrogen technologies and achieving energy independence for the country.
The discussions primarily focused on the crucial role of hydrogen in Ukraine’s post-war recovery. They highlighted the critical importance of international cooperation for successfully implementing these plans.
One of the central projects that garnered significant interest among participants was the Central European Hydrogen Corridor. This initiative envisions the creation of a hydrogen transport route running from Ukraine through Slovakia and the Czech Republic to Germany. It would ensure reliable supply routes and promote energy integration in the region.

The Ukrainian Hydrogen Council presented a video on hydrogen laboratories and collaboration with scientific institutes.
The opening of new laboratories and educational programs dedicated to studying hydrogen technologies contributes to developing the hydrogen economy.
It also reduces dependence on traditional fuels and opens new opportunities for innovation and development of modern energy solutions in Ukraine.
