Dacheng and Flex Fuel deepen partnership over hydrogen engine maintenance
The partnership is set to provide high-efficiency equipment to transportation firms and drivers.
Dacheng (National) Trustworthy Auto Repair Chain and a subsidiary of France’s Flex Fuel Energy Development (FEED) have said they have reached a strategic partnership for deeper integration and hydrogen engine maintenance.
They will provide high-efficiency hydrogen engine maintenance equipment to truck drivers and transportation companies across China.
Flex Fuel Energy Development (Shenzhen) Co., is the Asia-Pacific subsidiary of FEED, the French technology company founded in 2008.
It is not associated with similarly-named Flex Fuel Hydrogen Development, which is based in Hong Kong and was founded in 2016.
FEED holds exclusive sales and production authorisation for the Asia-Pacific region and markets itself as a leader in “green repair” for the automotive industry.
Currently, the Flex Fuel engages in hydrogen research and the supply of production equipment.
The partnership between Dacheng and Flex Fuel will help truck drivers save costs and empower Dacheng with the principles of “maintenance over repair” creating a better future, the firms said in a release.
As previously reported, the market for new energy vehicles in China reached “unprecedented” heights in 2024 with sales of new energy hydrogen buses and trucks soaring to an all-time high of 238,000 units.
This new partnership further expands commitments made by China’s National Development and Reform Commission.
The commision previously announced an allocation of ¥300 bn ($41 bn) for subsidies to remove polluting vehicles and equipment with cleaner alternatives, including hydrogen-powered vehicles.
Joining the hydrogen powered truck movement is Volvo, who are set to unveil its hydrogen engine trucks by 2026.
