Regional Collaboration Strengthens Central Europe’s Green Hydrogen Industry
Following Trump’s recent election, It’s a crucial time for Europe to accelerate it’s shift to a carbon neutral future. Countries like Germany, Austria, Belgium, and the Netherlands are at the forefront of this, collaborating with each other to create an interconnected hydrogen network.
HydrogenPro and J.H.K have partnered up in the process of implementing state-of-the-art electrolysers, while Denmark and Netherlands stay committed to an initiative for a ‘transnational hydrogen cluster’
HydrogenPro and J.H.K partner up in implementation of green hydrogen
HydrogenPro, a leading manufacturer in electrolyzer technology, and J.H.K., an established industrial plant construction and engineering company, are pleased to announce an exclusive partnership focused on the implementation of green hydrogen projects in Germany, Austria and the Benelux countries (Belgium and Netherlands).
As part of this collaboration, HydrogenPro will supply its high-pressured alkaline electrolyzer technology, while J.H.K. will act as plant integrator and EPC (Engineering, Procurement and Construction) contractor, managing project execution and successful delivery to customers.
The partnership targets green hydrogen projects in the range of 5 to 50 MW. This collaboration combines HydrogenPro’s expertise in electrolysis technology with J.H.K.’s experience of more than a century in Balance of Plant and EPC services, creating a powerful combination aimed at accelerating the adoption of sustainable energy solutions across Europe.
Jarle Dragvik, CEO of HydrogenPro, commented, “HydrogenPro is primarily addressing the large scale Hydrogen projects, but we recognizes that parts of the market are entering the energy transition in initial smaller scale scopes. J.H.K. brings the necessary know-how to use our advanced technology in smaller green hydrogen projects in the European market.
This partnership enables us to offer a complete solution that integrates our state-of-the-art electrolyzers with J.H.K.’s experience in the EPC sector, creating a win-win situation for both companies and, more importantly, for our customers who are looking to transition to green energy. HydrogenPro is cooperating with Andritz AG on larger scale projects”
Julius Kramer, CEO of J. Heinr. Kramer Group, added, “This partnership is a major step forward in advancing green hydrogen solutions on an industrial scale.
Based on the exceptional energy efficiency of HydrogenPro’s high pressure alkaline technology, we see good opportunities to meet the growing demand in the field of decentralized, green hydrogen production for use in industry, mobility and grid stabilization, thus enabling a more sustainable future.”
Together, HydrogenPro and J.H.K. are committed to delivering impactful green hydrogen solutions that support Europe’s energy transition goals and accelerate the transition to a carbon-neutral economy.
Denmark and the Netherlands intensify collaboration to develop green hydrogen
Following the 12th November forum on hydrogen cooperation, (attended by His Majesty the King Willem-Alexander of the Netherlands and His Majesty King Frederik of Denmark), Both nations aim to create a transnational hydrogen cluster that will promote the production, distribution, and use of green hydrogen.
Central to this initiative is the establishment of an interconnected hydrogen network that connects key industrial hubs in both countries, facilitating the exchange of renewable hydrogen across borders. Denmark, with its strong wind energy sector, and the Netherlands, which has a robust gas infrastructure, are uniquely positioned to lead this effort.
The project will integrate wind-to-hydrogen production facilities in Denmark, while the Netherlands will leverage its existing port and industrial infrastructure to serve as a major hydrogen import and distribution hub.
This ambitious initiative is seen as a critical step in meeting both countries’ net-zero emissions targets by mid-century. The collaboration also aligns with broader European Union goals to create a green hydrogen economy and integrate renewable energy systems across the continent.
SAS joins a Danish-Dutch collaboration
Scandinavian Airlines, or ‘SAS’, have joined the partnership between Danish green hydrogen producers and Dutch industrial markets. The partnership was formalized by signing a declaration at the Dutch-Danish Forum on hydrogen cooperation at the premises of Danish Industry.
This cross-country initiative aims to establish Northwest Europe’s leading green hydrogen cluster, bridging Danish production with Dutch demand. By enhancing green hydrogen infrastructure, the collaboration seeks to boost demand, advocate for government support, and secure funding to make green hydrogen a competitive energy source across the region.
SAS is committed to playing a key role in driving this sustainable transformation, partnering with stakeholders to drive progress toward a more sustainable future for aviation.
SAS President & CEO, Anko van der Werff concluded: “We’re very excited and proud to join forces in this green hydrogen partnership, which brings us closer to a sustainable future for aviation.
If Europe is to meet its climate goals and strengthen energy security, public and private sectors as well as countries must work together to build a strong green hydrogen market. We’re committed to doing our part to help drive real progress”
